Dad Resources: The Silicon Valley Stay-At-Home-Dads Group

This week I attended my very first meeting of the Silicon Valley Dad’s Group for Stay-At-Home-Dads. It was a monthly “Dad’s Night Out” get-together just for the dads. We spent three hours having beers, dinner, and playing Bocce at the Los Gatos Campo di Bocce facility.

imageThe meetup was attended by about a dozen Stay-At-Home Dads from the Bay Area Peninsula and South Bay Areas.

My son, Nate, was the youngest child of the group, at 8 weeks of age, but not by much. Another "Brian” of the group had an 11 week old boy, so it was great to compare notes.

The group had dads with lots of Stay-At-Home-Dad experience, so it will be a great resource to use as I move forward with my full-time dad status, which starts very soon when my wife, Amy, heads back to work.

So, if you are in the Bay Area, I encourage you to join the Yahoo Group and attend the next Dad’s Night Out or Park Playgroup outing.

Highly recommended!
